Jason Gillespie, Pakistan’s red-ball head coach, will play a crucial role in these preparations. He will supervise the Pakistan Shaheens training camp in Karachi and travel with the team to Darwin as head coach for the four-day matches. He will return to Pakistan after second four-day match to focus on the national side’s training for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh. The support staff for these camps boasts a blend of experience and expertise. Mohammad Masroor, who will oversee the pre-season camp, will travel with the Shaheens as Assistant Coach-cum-Manager. Abdul Rehman will join the team as head coach for the white-ball matches in Darwin. Players currently competing in the United Kingdom and those recently involved in the T20 World Cup are exempt from the pre-season camp, allowing them a well-deserved break. This series of training camps and the Darwin tour signify the PCB’s commitment to developing a strong Test team. By providing exposure to competitive matches and experienced coaching, Pakistan aims to nurture the talent needed for future success in the red-ball format.
